Kala’s traveling!

My objective always – to provide In Kala’s Hands: A Lakota Sioux Proclamation to reach a mass audience near and far. Applying for local library acceptance is a start to reach my goal. I received this letter on January 14, 2015:

I’m going to get them from Amazon and we will catalog and process them in-house; they will be available for checkout to the public within the next few weeks. Thank you for your patience during our evaluation process, I appreciate it!
Best wishes,

Lifelong Learner of Lakota Sioux

Researching my first novel ‘In Kala’s Hands: A Lakota Sioux Proclamation’, studying the Lakota Sioux Nation, I experienced The Pine Ridge Reservation with Vernell White Thunder, http://www.spirit-trails.com/itineraries/northernusa/trip_6_horse-riding_with_white_thunder.php, drove through The Badlands of South Dakota, and lodged in Rapid City:

My plan is to continue as a lifelong learner of the Lakota culture and share topics of interest with my readers. I hope you enjoy my first post:

“We need to work on coming back to reality, which is a natural way of life.”
Floyd Looks for Buffalo Hand

A short video of a Lakota Medicine Man as he communicates his beliefs:

Floyd Looks for Buffalo Hand speaks about 7 Laws of Universe, Matriarchal Society, Star People, Red cloud, Sioux, Oglala, Lakota, Treaties, summer retreats, getting back to nature, destruction of technology, medicine people, hole in back of head, medicine of vision quest, speaking spirit language, heart spirit, oral language, AIM, sweat lodge, sun dance, and Chief Red Cloud.

A delightful afternoon!

Kim Henry owns and operates the book store, Books or Books, in Henderson, Nevada. The delightful atmosphere creates a warm environment conducive for leaving the store with a handful of great books.

Serving as the perfect host for my book signing event, providing a table, complete with a candy dish of chocolates, Kim graciously promoted me as a new author. I appreciated her purchasing a signed copy of ‘In Kala’s Hands’ for Books or Books. The plan is to display my novel on a daily basis.

Next month I’m lucky enough to secure a booth at the Clark County Spring Fling Book Fair, on March 14th, from 12:30-2:30.
Stop by and say hello 🙂

As always, thank you for reading my blog.

My second book signing is coming up!

I’m looking forward to another great experience on Saturday, February 7th. Meeting new people and sharing my novel, In Kala’s Hands: A Lakota Sioux Proclamation provides an amazing way to spend a couple of hours at the extraordinary Books or Books bookstore in Henderson, NV.

Kim Henry displayed my book’s poster in her storefront window for weeks in anticipation of my event. I appreciate her supporting me as a new author.

If you couldn’t make my previous event, please stop by this coming Saturday. I’d love to meet readers in such an ideal setting as Books or Books.

The event is from 12:00-2:00 pm

Incredible Event!

Dragon Castle Books hosted my first book signing on Saturday, and Carla Spillman and Danny Brown couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you so much for making this event an amazing experience.

My family from Sparks shared my special day, my son, Rich, his wife, Cherie, and my grandson, Alex. My son, Bobby Meader lives here in Vegas. Many friends from Las Vegas and Henderson took time from their busy schedules to stop by and support me as a new author. Thrilled a former student took home a signed copy made my day. I’m looking forward to feedback from all my readers.

I met new people who visited the book store and stopped to talk with me, leaving with a signed copy of In Kala’s Hands.

Thank you everyone for your support!

My second signing is February 7, 2015 at Books Or Books from 12:00-2:00
